The story
A no-frills eatery on Dinh Cong Trang street famous for oversized Saigon-style banh xeo, turmeric rice-flour crepes fried in well-seasoned pans until golden and crackly. Wrap pieces in mustard leaves and herbs, dunk in nuoc cham, repeat. Expect shared metal tables and fast, brusque, efficient service.
This is the banh xeo most Saigon families grew up on — huge, shatteringly crispy, stuffed with shrimp and pork. Anthony Bourdain ate here and locals still outnumber tourists.
