VietnamGo Terms of Service

Last updated 24 September 2026. These terms apply to the VietnamGo app and website. By creating an account or posting anything, you agree to them.

1. What VietnamGo is

VietnamGo is a travel companion for people visiting Vietnam. It shows places, opening hours, prices, practical tips and stories written by our editors, sourced from named references, and updated by travelers. It is information, not advice: hours change, stalls move and prices rise. Always check anything that matters — a flight, a medical need, a legal requirement — with the business or authority itself.

2. Your account

You must be at least 13 years old, and old enough to agree to a contract where you live. Keep your password to yourself; you are responsible for what happens under your account. One person, one account. You can delete your account at any time from Account → Delete account, which removes your profile, trip, saved places, plans and uploads.

3. Content you post

Posts, reviews, comments, photos, place updates and guide applications are yours. You keep ownership. You give VietnamGo a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to display, store, resize and distribute what you post, inside the app and on this website, for as long as you leave it up. Delete it and that licence ends, except for copies kept for safety, legal or audit reasons.

You promise that what you post is yours to post — your own photo, your own words, your own experience — and that it does not infringe anyone’s rights.

4. What you may not post

There is no tolerance for objectionable content or abusive users. Do not post:

• harassment, threats, hate or content attacking anyone for who they are;
• sexual content, nudity, or anything involving minors;
• violence, gore, or instructions for hurting people;
• illegal activity, including wildlife trafficking, drugs and counterfeit goods;
• spam, advertising, affiliate links, or repeated promotion of a business;
• knowingly false information about a place, a price or a person;
• other people’s photos, reviews or text presented as your own;
• anyone’s private information — addresses, phone numbers, documents — without their consent.

5. Moderation, reporting and blocking

Everything posted publicly is checked before it appears — automatically, and by a moderator where needed. Anyone can report a post or a comment from the “…” menu on it, choosing a reason. Anyone can block another contributor, which hides their content from you and yours from them.

We act on every report within 24 hours. Content that breaks these rules is removed. Accounts that post it are warned, suspended or removed, and we may remove an account immediately for anything that puts someone in danger. You will be told when your own post is not published, and why, on the My posts screen.

6. Go with a Local

When Go with a Local is available in your city, VietnamGo introduces travelers to independent local guides. It is an introduction service. Guides are not VietnamGo employees or agents, and a tour is a direct arrangement between the traveler and the guide, paid directly between them, in cash or by transfer. VietnamGo checks a guide’s identity and reviews their profile before listing them, but does not supervise a tour and is not a party to it.

A traveler can ask a guide they chose, or post an open request that every guide who fits can see; the first guide to accept is matched, and the request closes for everyone else. Phone numbers and chat are available only from acceptance until the tour ends, and chat closes afterwards.

Guides owe VietnamGo a commission on each completed tour, shown in the app before they accept, and pay it by bank transfer to the account shown in the app. A guide cannot accept a new tour while a fee is unpaid. A tour that neither side closes is treated as completed 24 hours after its scheduled end unless a problem has been reported.

Use the same judgement you would with anyone you meet while traveling: meet in a public place, tell someone where you are going, and stop if you feel unsafe. Emergency numbers are in the app under Toolkit.

Reviews may only be written after a completed tour, by the two people on it, within 14 days. Neither review is shown until both are written or the 14 days pass. Invite codes give fee credit only after real tours; credit for invites made with fake accounts or with yourself is removed.

7. AI features

Ask, Scan menu, Translate, Check price and Plan my day use AI over our own catalog. They can be wrong, and they never invent a place — every place they mention exists in the catalog. Price checks use language like “appears higher than the typical range”, and are an estimate, never an accusation. AI use is free, capped at a number of requests per day, and we may change that limit.

8. Money

VietnamGo is free for travelers. There are no in-app purchases and no subscriptions, and VietnamGo never takes payment from travelers. Guides pay the commission described in section 6. If any of this changes, the price and what it covers will be shown before anyone is charged.

9. Our content

Editorial text, the place catalog, ratings, labels such as VietnamGo Pick, the name and the logo belong to VietnamGo. You may link to any of it and quote a reasonable amount with attribution. You may not scrape it, resell it, or use it to train a model.

10. Ending this

You can stop using VietnamGo and delete your account at any time. We can suspend or end an account that breaks these terms, or if we stop running the service. If we close your account for a reason you think is wrong, write to us through support.

11. Liability

VietnamGo is provided as is. To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, for what a third party — a business, a guide, another traveler — does, or for information that turned out to be out of date. Nothing here limits liability that cannot be limited by law, including for death or personal injury caused by negligence.

12. Changes and contact

We will post material changes here with a new date, and tell you in the app before they take effect. Questions, complaints and legal notices go through the support form.
