The story
Banh Mi Bay Ho traces back to around 1930, when Tran Van Hau sold bread from a cart and married Ly Thi Tu, a sticky-rice seller; they set up on Huynh Khuong Ninh and the business passed down the family. The draw is the soft, salty pate and a crisp baguette, with meats and siu mai made in-house. Today it runs as a counter plus an upstairs dining space.
A long-running banh mi cart in Da Kao. The pate and fillings are described as a family recipe, made in-house.
