Ngo Dong Xuan is a narrow food alley about 200 m long beside Dong Xuan Market, entered from Hang Chieu. There is only room for a single row of tables, so you squeeze past diners as you walk. Many vendors have been there for decades. You can graze through Hanoi snacks here: shrimp and sweet potato fritters, snail noodle soup, dried-beef papaya salad, pho tiu and nearly 20 kinds of che.
A cluster of food vendors rather than a single restaurant. Suited to browsing by dish and by time of day on a food crawl.
