The story
A small family banh mi shop at 115 Tran Cao Van, known to travelers as 'The Banh Mi Queen'. The owner is Nguyen Thi Loc. Locals named the shop after her late husband, Khanh, and foreign customers gave it the 'Queen' title. It keeps a short menu, with fillings including pâté and egg-yolk mayonnaise. The signature 'The Queen' comes loaded with pork, grilled meat, chicken, sausage, egg, pâté and shredded papaya.
Very famous, yet still a small family-run shop.
Owner Nguyen Thi Loc; 'Khanh' was her late husband's name. A 2015 VietNamNet profile said she had sold banh mi for about 60 years; the shop now says over 60 years.
