The story
An annual festival of traditional southern Vietnamese cakes. The 13th edition ran from 26 April to 1 May 2026 at Binh Thuy Square in Can Tho, with about 350 booths and 77 kinds of cake from 27 competing units. Artisans came from Hue, Ho Chi Minh City, Can Tho, Lam Dong, Tay Ninh, An Giang, Dong Thap, Vinh Long and Dong Nai. Visitors can taste cakes, make them alongside artisans and watch traditional preparation methods.
The festival brings together artisans and traditional cakes from across southern Vietnam. The 2026 edition was held in Can Tho from 26 April to 1 May.

Don't just taste: join a cake-making session with the artisans.
Look for the cake competition, which covers Kinh, Chinese (Hoa), Khmer and Cham cake traditions.
The 2026 edition also had traditional games (such as coconut-leaf braiding, kite flying and conical hat painting) and a Khmer cultural space.
