The story
'Love market' was the name visitors gave in the late 20th century to the Saturday-evening gathering before Sa Pa's weekly market, when people who had travelled in from the villages stayed overnight to talk, sing and court. Today it is staged as a weekly Saturday cultural program with Hmong khen (pipe) dancing, call-and-response love songs, folk games like tug-of-war, and stalls selling textiles, local produce, herbal medicines and local food.
Love market cultural activities are held here in the Fansipan area.

Arrive around 19:30; there is no fixed seating.
Watch for the khen pipe dancing and the love-song exchanges, the core of the program.
Visitors can sometimes try traditional embroidery at the craft stalls.

Held in central Sa Pa town. Recent guides place it on the square in front of the Stone Church, while a 2024 Lao Cai newspaper report named the Sa Pa ethnic cultural park and Van Hoa park. Check locally that week.
