The story
The 900-meter granite promenade links the ornate French-era City Hall (and its Ho Chi Minh statue) to the Saigon River. Cafes and the famous Cafe Apartment line its flanks; on weekend nights it fills completely with street performers and food vendors on the fringes.
This is where the whole city comes out to stroll after dark — skateboarders, buskers, families, and couples under the towers' lights. It is the best free evening in Saigon.
Local tips
Come on Saturday or Sunday evening when the street fully closes to traffic and the buskers are out in force.
