The story
Afternoon community trips on Tam Giang, part of the Tam Giang–Cau Hai lagoon system about 15 km from central Hue, where local fishermen take visitors out by boat. You wade in to hunt for crabs, snails and trìa clams, help pull nets and paddle a SUP. Then you eat from the lagoon: grilled trìa with scallion oil, lagoon shrimp and fish porridge. In fishing villages like Ngu My Thanh (Dan Dien), fishermen haul nets at night and run tours by day.
