Since 13 Apr 2026 Tuyen Quang (which now includes Ha Giang) bans unlicensed operators from running motorbike tours; riders must work under a written contract with a licensed travel company naming driver, bike and route, and provide proper helmets. Ask to see the company's travel licence and contract, check your helmet fits, and confirm insurance in writing.
